Voni is a scholar of organization theory and strategic management, and she leverages her expertise in navigating business-society tensions, paradox theory, authenticity, and professional dynamics to support clients in addressing complex organizational challenges and ethical decision-making.

Voni is an Associate Professor of Strategic Management and Public Policy (with tenure) at the George Washington University School of Business, where she teaches core courses on business ethics and public policy, creating impact through careers, and ethical negotiations to undergraduate and MBA students. She is passionate about understanding how organizations manage trade-offs between business goals and societal issues, empowering leaders to foster authentic and sustainable practices. Voni brings extensive academic and professional experience in organization theory, paradox management, social impact, and employee evaluations to her work with clients across industries, including nonprofits, education, and corporate sectors focused on philanthropy, diversity, and corporate social responsibility.

Voni completed her dual Ph.D. in Management and Organizations and Sociology at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, along with an M.S. in the same fields, and holds a B.A. in Sociology and American Culture with a Math minor from the University of Michigan. Prior to academia, she directed the I Have a Dream Foundation education nonprofit in Newark, NJ, and served as an AmeriCorps member. In her research, Voni examines how firms engage with societal issues, using qualitative methods like interviews and ethnography, as well as archival and experimental data to explore effects on employees and organizations. She has published in top management journals including Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Studies, and Journal of Management Inquiry, with work featured in Academy of Management Insights and Collections. Voni has presented at conferences such as the Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society, and received awards such as Poets & Quants’ Best 40-Under-40 MBA Professors, NSF Doctoral Dissertation Research ImprovementGrant, and multiple "Best Paper" recognitions.
