Terry’s current position as senior principal with Medvec & Associates comes after a long association as a client of the firm. At Abbott Laboratories and then at AbbVie, he invited Dr. Medvec to run negotiation training with his procurement teams to drive success and became a devotee of her strategies. In his role at Medvec & Associates, Terry supports our most advanced procurement curriculum, working with chief purchasing officers and key senior leaders across a number of industries, including leading biotech, pharma, medical device and tech companies.

Terry has an extensive background in total procurement and supplier management, including experience with both domestic and international purchasing. He has held positions of increasing responsibility in procurement, administration and sales with McDonald’s Corp. and a number of biopharma companies. During his tenure at Baxter Laboratories, Terry served as vice president of global purchasing.  He was vice president of purchasing and real estate at Hospira before its acquisition by Pfizer. Terry joined Abbott in 2012 as vice president, purchasing and supplier management and in 2013 assumed these duties for AbbVie. Terry retired after a successful campaign driving financial value, third-party performance and supply risk management.

Terry received his bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Minnesota. He is an active member of the National Association of Purchasing Managers and the AMA Purchasing and Supply Chain council as well as collegiate affiliations in Illinois and Minnesota.
